Type of calculation: Calculating a value after a percentage
decrease.
How to use the calculator:
Step 1: Find out how much you're saving. Use the Basic Percentage CALCULATOR ("What is X% of Y?"). Enter 15 [X] and $3000 [Y]. It will calculate 15% of $3000.
Step 2: Subtract that savings amount from your previous spending.
The formula:
We want the amount after a 15% decrease from $3000.
Amount of decrease = 15% of $3000
Amount of decrease = (15 / 100) × $3000 = 0.15 × $3000 = $450
New expenses = Previous expenses - Amount of decrease
New expenses = $3000 - $450 = $2550
